An NYPD cop has passed away after suffering from serious complications related to breast implant removal surgery in the Dominican Republic.
And now, the mother of three's family is said to be demanding a malpractice investigation, as per reports and authorities.
Rebecca De Paula, who was named officer of the month in the month of March at her Bronx precinct, ended up contracting a bacterial infection after the cosmetic surgery at the clinic in Santo Domingo, relatives shared with the press.
She passed away early Sunday after less than two years on the force.
The Police Benevolent Association President Patrick Hendry was seen sharing a statement on the matter that mentioned the following: "Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our sister P.O Rebecca DePaula. She passed away while off duty after only 18 months on the job," the statement shared.
