Health experts are raising the alarm over a popular American snack sold across nearly 19 different states.
Sources from local media outlets shared more about how a popular pistachio nut butter found in Walmart was recently recalled over a Salmonella risk.
The famous nut butter that's sold exclusively at Walmart has been recalled due to a potential Salmonella contamination. Moreover, Botticelli Foods was one of the first to recall one lot of BetterGoods pistachio nut butter after Walmart learned on July 17 that three jars of the product tested positive for Salmonella during a routine inspection by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. This was confirmed by the FDA on August 3.
The issue had to do with Salmonella being an organism that could cause serious infections in young kids, older adults, and those with poor immune systems. Common symptoms include pain in the abdomen, diarrhea, and nausea with vomiting, while fever and bloody stools are also frequent.
