A total of 13 people were killed after a tourist plane plunged into a field in Peru while flying over the world-famous Nazca Lines.
The small plane was said to have come down in a devastating crash near Nazca, which is a city on the country's southern coast, famous for its archaeological and tourist attractions.
The plane was said to be carrying 11 passengers and two pilots when the disaster struck, as per the Peruvian state news channel TVPeru. It had taken off from Pisco airport at about 1 pm local time for a sightseeing flight over the Nazca lines. Hence, ancient geoglyphs were seen carved into the desert, which can only be fully appreciated from the air.
