Nancy Guthrie's ransom notes were just released in full as a writer was seen making some shocking claims about how she passed away.
Police in Arizona have now released two ransom notes in the hope that the public can help identify whoever abducted the mother of US news presenter Savannah Guthrie.
The first note, which is treated as credible, demanded millions of dollars in Bitcoin, and the other claimed that Nancy died shortly after she was kidnapped from her residence near Tucson six months back.
The Pima County Sheriff's Office says they cannot verify her death, and the investigation remains active. Other officials released two notes on Friday, asking the public for help identifying the writer, whose distinct linguistic characteristics might be recognizable.
The potential kidnappers made it clear that they never meant to kill her and that they are sorry for what happened, adding that she passed away shortly after being kidnapped.
