Tragic reports are speaking about a 24-year-old rookie with the Rogers Police Department who lost his life after tragically drowning.
The news arose after he entered a fast-moving river to rescue his new fiancée, Hailey Lummus, just hours after he proposed to her.
Early on Saturday morning, Marsh proposed to Lummus, his lover of three years, who accepted the news happily. To celebrate, the pair were seen canoeing with another Rogers police officer and his partner on the Elk River near Noel, Missouri.
Later that same afternoon, Lummus entered the water and started to struggle against a powerful and fast-moving current while trying to return to the canoe. Marsh and his fellow off-duty officer swiftly jumped into the river to assist.
They successfully pushed Lummus to the safety of the boat, but Marsh soon got so exhausted and was swept away by the fast current and went underwater soon after that.
