Identified by the NYC police as Andrew Truelove, the 41-year-old faces up to 15 years in jail if convicted, following a security breach at NBC's Today show studio in New York City.
A judge did officially grant temporary restraining orders to anchors Craig Melvin and Al Roker regarding the scare. The intruder has been advised to stay completely away from both leading TV personalities.
The security breach took place on Thursday morning when he slipped past security at the 30 Rockefeller Plaza by tailgating an employee into a restricted area. He then entered a vestibule near Studio 1A, looking for Al Roker. When he couldn't find him, he confronted Craig Melvin in a stairwell and stepped towards him while hurling a racial slur.
