The loved ones of a three-year-old boy who was thrown into a crocodile pit have broken their silence on the child's condition.
They revealed how the crocodile enclosure incident was horrifying for them, and while he did survive, he's now been left with an array of distressing injuries.
This includes seven operations to treat some life-threatening injuries, leaving the family's world upside down. One of the procedures was performed immediately and was called a 12-hour emergency procedure, they added. Some of the injuries included serious bone fractures and damage to blood vessels and tissue.
The terrifying and tragic incident arose last month at the Johnsons of Old Hurst Zoo in Cambridgeshire. This is where a 30-year-old man with a learning disability was said to be visiting with his carers and did not know the child. He picked him up and threw him inside the crocodile pit in front of horrified visitors.
The cops have arrested him on charges linked to attempted murder, and he was later released on bail.
