Tourist’s Dream Vacation Takes Nightmare Turn After She’s Kidnapped Twice In One Day: “I Just Ran And Ran”

A tourist is sharing how her dream vacation soon turned into an absolute nightmare that she wouldn't wish on her worst enemy.

36-year-old Stephanie from Australia, who works as a freelance content creator, claimed to have been kidnapped twice in a single day, while she happened to be vacationing in Sicily, Italy. While she was visiting Lo Stangnone to better explore local kiteboarding and the region's one-euro programs, she accepted a ride from an expat from Europe to follow a group to another bar.

Instead of taking her to the desired destination, he sped up the car and drove in a dangerous manner down the narrowest roads, ignoring her pleas and cries for help and to stop. Fearing for her safety, she managed to open the passenger door and flee into the night.

After she ran to a nearby town, she got help from a patrolling security guard who agreed to drive her back to her hotel. However, he ended up pulling her into a dark alleyway and used a transition app to demand a favor. This is where he typed and asked what she was going to do for him for driving her home. She fled a second time and managed to hide in the vineyard.

She soon made it back to the hotel safely on foot by avoiding headlights and buying drinks intentionally from vending machines to leave a traceable digital footprint. She did share that this was a terrifying ordeal, but a reflection of certain bad people and not of the country as a whole.
