Dora Belen Rivera and her father were reportedly waiting for their meal at a McDonald's, but little did they know that an innocent fast food stop would change their lives forever.
Shocking reports are speaking about the 11-year-old being shot in the head while her dad was getting injured in the leg.
*The incident reportedly took place at Hallandale Beach in Florida as the father-daughter duo was excitedly waiting for their food. Their two younger siblings, aged two and five, thankfully managed to escape the incident without any kind of injury. The family was said to be caught in the middle of a cross-fire where a bullet intended for another target ended up striking them.
But the heartbreaking detail now emerging from the tragedy is how doctors were unable to remove the bullet from her head. They confirmed that doing so would put her more at risk, and therefore, extracting it at this time could prove to be fatal.
Dora has been given a second chance at life, and while she does have a really long journey ahead, she is determined to fight her battle.
