Tragic reports have confirmed the death of a middle aged man and three more seriously injured after a terrifying lightning strike took center stage on a beach in Florida.
The incident happened just one day before Independence Day, when the victim was identified as a 51-year-old male named Viktar Kiryk, who was said to be on vacation with his family at the time. He was in the water when the tragedy unfolded at about 2:20 pm local time.
The three family members who happened to be accompanying him were said to have sustained serious injuries and were therefore rushed to a nearby local hospital for treatment.
Witnesses shared the horror of the incident, calling the strike deafening and blinding. One person said it sounded like an atomic bomb. A nearby paramedic was off duty but rushed to administer CPR, but sadly, the man passed away at the scene.
