Mom, 27, Charged After Toddler Is Hospitalized with Blood Alcohol Level Over 4 Times the Legal Limit

A 27-year-old mother was recently charged for a horrifying incident involving her toddler.

Genesis Harrell left officers in shock in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, when she was arrested for child cruelty. The incident follows a serious medical emergency that the cops were forced to respond to.

911 was called after reports about her son going extremely limp and unresponsive were made. Paramedics rushed to the scene and transferred the child to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. This is where he was admitted by doctors to the PICU and put on a ventilator to sustain his breathing.

Diagnostic tests shared how the child's BAC was only 0.305%. And that is an astonishing four times more than the legal limit that's called out to be acceptable for an adult, let alone a child. The dangers this can pose for a kid this age are immense, giving rise to alcohol poisoning, respiratory failure, or cardiac arrest without any immediate intervention.
