Shocking reports are speaking about a JetBlue Airways flight slamming into a drone on Monday at nearly 3000 feet.
The latest incident has left many questions in people's minds about the level of aviation safety and how such incidents can be prevented to avoid major disasters like airplane crashes. It also raises the alarm about what drones are doing on the flight path that's commonly used by passenger jets on a daily basis.
The plane was said to be returning from Las Vegas after it made a final approach at New York's John F. Kennedy Airport. This is when the autopilot aerial vehicle struck the plane's cockpit region, giving rise to a loud bang.
Despite the huge impact, the crew and pilot remained calm and immediately informed the Air Traffic control about the matter, leaving the controllers stunned about the matter as well. Thankfully, the plane was able to land as planned with no injuries or damage reported to the plane on visible inspection. Investigations continue to determine more about this matter.
