Cops are sharing terrifyingly tragic details linked to the death of an entire family that was intentionally caused by a loved one.
A 64-year-old grandmother named Amy Steadman is suspected of carrying out the horrific crime of murder suicide by intentionally poisoning herself, her 44-year-old daughter Sarah Myers, and her four grandkids. While the reason is still under investigation, it is believed that she was resentful after the children's father won a custody battle.
The remains of all six family members were found on June 23 during a police welfare check at their Harris Avenue apartment complex after neighbors reported not seeing the residents for so many weeks. The deceased included the mother, grandmother, and four kids, two of whom were twins. Police state that the investigation points towards an internal family tragedy.
Authorities also found several over-the-counter medications with syringes. Initial reports indicate that the kids were injected with the drugs. Most of the victims were poisoned, but one of them suffered from sharp force injuries, pertaining to stabbing.
