Tragic reports have confirmed the death of six people from the same family after their remains were located.
Cops in Mechanicville, New York, rolled out a criminal probe after finding the remains of two adults and four kids from the same family inside an apartment. The tragic discovery was made during a welfare check on Tuesday at the John S. Moore Homes residential complex.
The police department identified the six deceased members of the same family, which included the mother, grandmother, and four children. A news release from the Mechanicville Police Department noted how there's no evidence pointing toward the involvement of outside individuals, and there's no ongoing threat to the public.
But the officials did confirm that they're now treating this case as a criminal investigation while waiting for the final autopsy results to figure out the exact cause and manner in which the death took place.
