Tragic reports have confirmed how 15 children and one adult were left stranded for three hours after the Wave Twister ride malfunctioned at the Adventureland theme park in Long Island, New York.

The group was reportedly suspended 25 feet in the air while a crew of emergency workers was seen arriving and carrying out a meticulous, car-by-car, rescue operation.
The trapped riders comprised nearly 14 kids aged between 8 and 12, one 5-year-old, and that child's 40-year-old parent. The mechanical failure arose at about 7:30 pm, and the final passenger was safely brought down to 10:40 pm. Firefighters and rescue crews spent hours lowering the fearful kids to safety one by one. Thankfully, no injuries were reported so far.

Adventureland officials spoke about how they shut down the Wave Twister following this incident. The attraction continually remains closed while park maintenance teams and investigations continue.
