A Kentucky mother of three has passed away after jumping into the water to rescue a stranger's child from drowning.
On Friday, Sarah Jo Reeder was seen visiting the creek at Phil Moore Park in Alvaton with some of her kids. And that's when she saw a young child who appeared to be drowning and jumped in to save him.
Melissa Donovan, who has been a friend of the single mother for nearly three decades, says that she was trying to save the young child when he pulled her down trying to come up. 'Ultimately, that's how it went down,' she added. She even noted how she was not at the scene when this tragedy took place.
A paddleboarder pulled her and the boy out of the water and then got emergency services on the way. While Reeder was rushed to the nearby medical facility, she passed away while being transported. Now, her loved ones are paying tribute to a woman who devoted her life to helping others and always put others before herself.
