A tragic and terrifying train collision took place in Bedford, England, which took the country by storm and left many families plunged into sadness.
A massive safety investigation was carried out after two trains collided on late Friday afternoon. This involved two southbound passenger trains bound for London's St. Pancras station. The violent impact instantaneously claimed the life of one of the train drivers. Emergency service crews, including more than 20 ambulances and six air ambulances, had rushed to the scene after the impact was reported.
Rescue workers worked frantically and searched through the wreckage to treat more than 80 passengers, with the injury toll rising to 91. While many survivors have since then been discharged, 28 people remain in the hospital, and nine of those are still said to be critical and fighting for their lives.
