‘Loving’ mom and teacher ID’d as swimmer who lost arm in horrific great white shark attack

A loving woman who lost her arm when she was viciously attacked by a great white shark whiel out for a morning swim has now been identified as a loving teacher and new mother whose baby was on the beach at this time.

35-year-old Leah Stewart is currently on life support after she was bitten several times off the coast of Sydney, Australia's iconic Coogee Beach, early Saturday. This left her with some brutal injuries that forced doctors to amputate her arm.

In addition to losing her arm, Stewart, who has a one-year-old daughter, suffered several bites on her limbs, bone fractures, and severe blood loss in this attack. Her brother Joshua mentioned all the heartbreaking details on her GoFundMe as he plans to raise funds for her medical expenses.

Leah was a dedicated and loving mother, as well as a hardworking teacher and a Coogee local who adored the ocean. Many continue to pray for her health as her health battle continues.
