18 passengers, including nine kids, were injured recently after a tourist land train overturned in the town of Cartama, near Spain, during a local food festival.
The incident arose at about 9:40 pm local time on Saturday, as confirmed by local media outlets. This area is highly popular when it comes down to international tourists. Out of nearly 30 passengers on board, 18 people sustained serious injuries. This includes nine adults and nine kids between the ages of 5 and 17. The vehicle was believed to be operating as a festival attraction during a local tapas and cocktail event when one of its wagons toppled over.
Emergency crews were seen rushing over to the scene to treat all the victims, where multiple passengers were taken to local hospitals with different degrees of severity, but authorities later reported that none of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening.
Local authorities and emergency services have now launched a full investigation to determine the cause of the incident.
