Body found wrapped in bag outside Iran’s World Cup training centre in Mexico ahead of first game as cops launch probe

Authorities in Mexico are investigating the discovery of a decomposing body wrapped in a black plastic bag that was recently found inside the trunk of a parked car.

According to reports from local media outlets, the incident took place outside the Estadio Caliente stadium that's present in Tijuana. The facility is now being used as the training base for the Iranian national soccer team.

A parking lot guard was believed to have alerted the staff about a very strong and foul odor arising from a gray vehicle across the stadium. Cops opened the truck, and that's when they made the gruesome discovery of a corpse inside. This body was said to have shown signs of abuse and violence.

Investigators believe the car was abandoned inside the parking lot since June 10. The Baja California state prosecutor's office just rolled out a homicide investigation. So far, authorities have found zero evidence linking this grim discovery to the Iranian national squad taking part in the World Cup.
