Misty Roberts, the former mayor of DeRidder, Louisiana, was sentenced to 90 days in jail on June 9 after her conviction in March 2026, related to having sex with a 16-year-old boy.
During the emotional sentencing hearing, the victim's mother delivered a powerful victim impact statement, directly slamming the 44-year-old former politician as a predator with hair extensions, high heels, Botox, and other modifications. The charges stem from a 2024 Pool Party that was hosted at Robert's residence while she was still serving as the mayor.
The teen victim testified that he'd been under the influence of alcohol, and Roberts flirted with him by the pool before taking him upstairs. During the weeklong trial, jurors were seen hearing a testimony that a close pal of Roberts instructed teen witnesses to lie till you die. A DoorDash driver also confirmed delivering emergency contraception to Robert's home following this encounter.
