Heartbreak as Penn State student, 22, gunned down and killed outside home while trying to fight off phone robbers

Tragic reports are speaking about a 22-year-old Penn State student who was gunned down and killed outside his home while trying to fight off phone robbers.

The incident arose at the 1900 block of Durfor Street in Philadelphia, where a university senior was fatally shot and killed during a suspected armed robbery on Saturday morning.

The incident took place at about 1:30 pm just steps away from his family's home. As per the cops and surveillance footage taken from the neighbors, the student was walking home after watching the NBA finals with pals when he was approached by suspects who stole his phone.

Home security footage captured the student pleading for his life and to give back his phone. One suspect threw the phone under a parked car while another ran. The student was seen chasing them, forcing the gunman to fire at him and flee.

Despite being rushed to a nearby medical center, he didn't survive his injuries. His phone was later located under a car and handed over to investigators.
