McDonald’s Employee in ICU with Second-Degree Burns After Co-Worker Allegedly Threw Hot Oil on Him

A 20-year-old shift manager at a McDonald's in Yuba City, California, remains in the hospital in the ICU after a co-worker allegedly threw a pot full of boiling hot cooking oil towards him.

The unprovoked attack left the victim with serious second-degree burns that covered up to 22% of his entire body. As per reports from local media outlets, the assault arose on a Saturday night as Smith was inside the restaurant's office preparing to end his shift and count money. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed some movement just before the hot oil was thrown at him directly.

The suspect was identified as 23-year-old Jalani Bluett. Currently, the victim is admitted to the ICU with second-degree burns that span his back, neck, right arm, and the side of his face.
