Buildings collapse as huge 7.8 magnitude quake strikes with tsunami alert issued

Videos of buildings collapsing to the ground and locals screaming as terror arose after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck the Philippines are going viral online.

The incident resulted in an urgent tsunami warning being issued following the massive quake near Mindanao, as per government sources through the US Tsunami Warning System.

A projected magnitude of 7.8 was reportedly felt in Davao City just before 7:40 am local time. Residents reported intense fear after major shaking, and most individuals were able to evacuate their buildings as soon as the terror struck as a safety precaution.

Potential tsunami warnings were similarly declared in the country, the West Coast of the US, Indonesia, Palau, Yap, Taiwan, and Papua New Guinea. Footage of the horror unfolding was also shared online.

In one chilling video, the Plaza building that houses LOVE Green Gensan and DZRH News FM dramatically comes crumbling down following this major earthquake that rattled Sarangani. Terrified screams of citizens could also be heard from a distance.
