The Food and Drug Administration shared the recall of popular baby wipes that are sold at Target.
Up & Up Fragrance Free and Up & Up Fresh Cucumber Scented Baby Wipes were recalled after customers complained about discoloration, prompting a bigger investigation into the matter. The products were all sold at Target stores and online at Target, as per a recent press release from the FDA.
The FDA identified the Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli bacteria in samples of this product. That was found to give rise to serious and life-threatening infections.
Moreover, the complex is said to be resistant to antibiotics, and that makes it all the more dangerous, sources shared. Therefore, such bacteria were said to pose a bigger threat to young kids having immature immune systems that are susceptible to infections.
