Tragic reports have confirmed the death of five police officers who were killed in a road accident in Spain, regional authorities shared on Wednesday.
Sources from local media outlets spoke more about how their minibus collided with a tanker on the AP-8 Motorway in the Basque Country near Elgoibar in the province of Gipuzkoa, as confirmed by the regional government. The victims were said to be from the police force in the Navarra region, which borders the Basque Country. The five occupants inside the police vehicle passed away at the scene of the tragedy.
The driver of the tanker was also rushed to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, the cause of the accident is yet to be clear as investigations are still taking place to determine what happened.
