A power outage triggered by a sudden thunderstorm left dozens of thrillseekers stranded at nearly 330 feet in the air on a massive roller coaster.
The extreme weather conditions knocked out electricity across the amusement park, forcing the ride to ground to a sudden stop near the highest point and leaving passengers suspended in midair as heavy rain and wind started to roll in.
The cause was outlined to be a severe lightning strike and thunderstorm that sparked an immediate power cut throughout the whole park region. Stranded passengers were said to be stuck near the peak of the structure, which is nearly 330 feet above the ground. Riders were forced to endure intense rainfall, high winds, and a drop in temperature while they were still trapped in the seats.
