Tragic reports are speaking about an intercity passenger bus crashing and bursting into flames in western Turkey early Sunday morning, leaving eight people dead and injuring more than 33. Among the dead included an 9 month old baby.

Sources shared how the accident took place in the Denizli province of southwestern Turkey. The vehicle ended up hitting the barriers at about 1:40 am local time. The route that the bus was traveling from was Izmir to the Mediterranean coastal city of Antalya.

The vehicle involved was said to be owned and operated by Pamukkale Tourism. As per media outlets, there were 41 people on board, including 38 passengers and three crew members. Investigations are still taking place to determine the cause of the crash and fire as families demand answers from authorities.
