A fire arose aboard a train in New York, which caused serious disruption and left five people injured at one of the city's busiest transit stations.
Thick smoke was seen filling the air as well as different parts of the station after flames were reported inside the train carriage during a very busy travel period. Emergency services, including firefighters and the cops, were seen arriving at the scene and evacuating passengers from impacted platforms.
Officials shared more about how the injured individuals suffered from mostly smoke inhalation injures and other minor injuries while they were seen evacuated the very busy station.
None of the injuries was believed to be life-threatening. Witnesses shared more about how there was intense confusion and panic amongst commuters who rushed through the station while announcements were made instructing people to leave the area immediately.
As a result of the fire, train services experienced serious delays and temporary suspensions as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and ensure the station was safe. Investigators later started to examine if an electrical malfunction or mechanical issue might have triggered this blaze in the first blaze.
