Tourist couple plunge 65ft to their deaths after suspension bridge snaps on holiday hike

A tourist couple passed away after a suspension bridge collapsed during a jungle hike in Indonesia.

The duo was identified as 56-year-old Astrid and 54-year-old Jurgen from Austria. They were both visiting from Flores Island and making their way towards the popular Cunca Wulang waterfall when this incident took place.

As per reports, the wooden bridge collapsed all of a sudden while they were crossing, and that sent them plunging around 65 feet into a rocky river that was present below.

Their tour guide heard a loud cracking sound moments before the bridge gave way.

Witnesses shared more about how the pair had only walked a short distance onto this structure when it fell down without any kind of warning. Rescue teams were swiftly sent to the same location, but both tourists were pronounced dead at the scene due to serious injuries from the mega fall.
