A retired married couple was stabbed to death and then dumped into a crocodile-infested river in a South African nature reserve.
Cops are now suspecting that they might have been slaughtered for interrupting the animals.
71-year-old Ernst Marais and his wife, 73-year-old Dina, were found with several stab wounds and their hands bound behind their backs early Friday in the Limpopo River with the Kruger National Park.
Their bodies were spotted by a group of horrified tourists who were there to watch a herd of elephants cross the mighty reserve.
The slain pair ended up trekking more than 1000 miles from their Mossel Bay retirement village to spend a week at the famous park.
