The US has confirmed that it has rolled out new strikes on southern Iran, targeting missile sites and boats that its forces say were making attempts to place mines.
The strikes were taken in self-defense and were designed to protect troops from leading threats posed by Iranian forces.
Captain Tim Hawkins mentioned more about how the US military continued to defend its forces while using restraint during the ongoing ceasefire between the two countries.
Iran is yet to reply to the major US attack. However, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqai did share that while some progress had been made in talks to end this war, a deal is not imminent.
Many believe that this has shattered all hopes of peace in the Middle East, and reports about the Strait of Hormuz being opened are now in doubt. The incident led to an immediate rise in fuel prices.
