A man in Texas has been charged with murder after he slipped an abortion pill into his pregnant lover's drink.
Justin Anthony Banta was arrested on Friday after a months-long investigation into his former lover's accusation that he gave her a Plan C pill, known as an abortion drug, without her knowledge, as per the police.
Banta's former partner said that when she disclosed her pregnancy last year, he had offered to cover the cost of an abortion. But she expressed her desire to keep the child.
Police shared that after meeting with Mr. Banta in a coffee shop, she experienced very heavy bleeding and visited the emergency room, but lost her child a few days back. Mr. Banta was also charged with tampering with physical evidence and is now awaiting prosecution as per the Parker County Sheriff's Office.
Police shared how Banta's former lover was nearly six weeks pregnant when she went for her checkup with her physician. This is where she was told that the baby was healthy and had a strong heartbeat.
