Horror as mom, 42, plunges 2,000ft into a volcano on birthday hike after slipping while taking a pic

A 42-year-old loving mother of two has passed away tragically after falling nearly 2000 feet into a volcano while taking part in a birthday hike.

The climber was seen taking pictures when she suddenly lost her grip and fell to her death. The woman was identified as Ingrid Daniela, who was climbing the Llaima Volcano, which is considered to be one of the biggest and most active volcanoes in Chile, with her group of friends.

The mother of two had shared a message on social media just hours before she fell to her death.

Ingrid mentioned how it's three in the morning, and we are finishing packing our backpacks to ascend Llaima in her final post, which was shared. She also mentioned how grateful she was to be turning 42 and being able to celebrate that with this hike. But little did she know about the horror that lay before her.

While taking pictures, she released her ice ick and lost her balance in strong winds. The mother of two then slipped and fell directly into the volcano.
