Panic gripped a hotel in Thailand's popular city of Pattaya on Thursday night after a fire broke out on the rooftop.
This forced hundreds of guests to flee through smoke-filled corridors.
Firefighters and rescue workers were seen rushing to the eight-storey JA Plus Hotel shortly after 9 pm local time as flames spread from a rooftop restaurant to the seventh floor.
Authorities were seen speaking about how 240 guests were staying in nearly 120 of the hotel's 173 rooms when the blaze erupted, according to a new post.
Eyewitnesses described scenes of absolute chaos as terrified tourists scrambled for exits while rescue teams searched the whole building floor by floor for anyone who was trapped inside.
Many of the guests were foreigners, including those from India, China, Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Several guests suffered from serious smoke inhalation as thick smoke quickly engulfed the upper floors.
