Tragic reports have confirmed the death of at least three people after being exposed to an unknown substance in a rural New Mexico home that also left more than a dozen first responders arriving at the scene sickened.
According to New Mexico state police, it was able to respond at about 11 am to assist the sheriff's office in what is being described as a drug overdose situation at a home in Mountainair, which is a town of less than 1000 people, an hour outside of Albuquerque.
Four people inside were found unresponsive, three of whom have since then been pronounced dead as per the state police.
While at the scene, 18 first responders started to experience symptoms that included nausea and dizziness, and were transported to a hospital along with the surviving resident. They were all being quarantined and evaluated by the state police.
Two of the first responders were in serious condition. 'Please continue to remember all those affected in your prayers'- the mayor mentioned in a post through social media as investigations continue regarding the mysterious hazardous substance.
