The woman who passed away after falling down an uncovered manhole in Midtown on Monday night has now been identified as the motehr and grandmother from Westchester County whose son was married just last year.
Donike Gocaj of Briarcliff Manor, New York, tumbled 10 feet down the open manhole after stepping out of her parked Mercedes-Benz SUV at about 11:20 pm outside the Cartier store at 52nd Street and Fifth Avenue, as per sources.

Responders were seen pulling Gocaj out of the hole and rushed to a nearby Medical center, but she soon passed away from her serious injuries.
Sources shared more about how the woman's son had just gotten married in Cancun, Mexico, last July, as per her social media posts.

Her daughter appeared to be the co-founder of SISTERWOULD, which is a hair product firm designed for the visually challenged.
Both she and her business partner are daughters of visually impaired mothers as per the firm's website.
