Two teenage gunmen were seen opening fire on Monday at the Islamic Center of San Diego, California, killing a security guard and two other men outside the mosque before the suspects were found dead, apparently from self-inflicted gunshot wounds, as per the police.
San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl mentioned more about how local law enforcement and the FBI were investigating this matter in detail, which took place at the biggest mosque in San Diego County, as a hate crime.
However, there is no precise motive or precipitating incident for the gun violence that has been publicly suggested by the authorities.
All of the kids attending a day school at the mosque complex were accounted for and safe after this shooting took place, which occurred at about 11:40 am as per officials.
At an evening news conference, it was mentioned that the mother of one of the two suspects had called the cops about two hours before the shooting occurred.
She wanted to report her son, whom she described as suicidal and had taken three guns that she owned, as well as her vehicle. Investigations are still taking place regarding this incident, with the FBI being closely involved.
