Two US Navy fighter jets were seen colliding mid-air and crashing in front of scared spectators at an air show in Idaho on Sunday.
Thankfully, all four crew members were able to eject safely. Sources reported how the incident took place yesterday at about 1 pm during the Gunfighter Skies air show at Mountain Home Air Force Base, nearly 80km southeast of the capital Boise.
This was during a performance involving two E/A-18G Vikings Growler demo team aircraft. Shocking footage showed the two jets colliding in mid-air before parachutes were deployed and the plane tumbled to the ground, creating a giant explosion and plume of smoke.
An announcer shared with the crowd moments later that all four pilots were found safe. 'We had four parachutes, and the crews were about to eject! They are located one mile south of where the smoke is. This is where the parachutes came down!'
