Tragic reports are speaking about the death of a man due to a freak escalator accident that was ignored by others.
Steven McCluskey was traveling to a subway platform at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's Davis Station in Somerville when this tragedy arose as per local media outlets.
The video captured of this incident showed McCluskey riding the escalator down at about 5 am local time. As he approached the bottom, the man stumbled and fell, and he could then be seen trapped at the end of the escalator for several minutes.
Several people appeared to ignore McCluskey and instead took the stairs, as some stopped for a brief period of time to check up on him.
But sources claim that it was not until 22 minutes later that an MBTA worker finally helped him by pressing the emergency stop button on the escalator.
As per the outlet, the victim's clothing got trapped under the elevator and cut off the airway in his throat.
