How the lone survivor in a group of Italian tourists killed while scuba diving managed to escape death is a mystery on its own.
Sources shared how she managed to avoid her own death by staying behind on a yacht while her pals took the plunge. The sixth driver was a student of the University of Goa and never entered the water as the rest of the group dove nearly 160 feet into a cave in Vaavu Atoll.
It's still not immediately clear as to why she chose to stay behind on the yacht called the Duke of York while the rest of the group went on the adventure that included exploring the underwater cave near the island of Alimatha.
The student is yet to be identified but she claims that she even geared up for the major dive, but at the last moment, she chose to change her mind and stay on board, as confirmed by local media outlets. Now, she's being seen as a key witness who would be able to explain the final moments before the rest of the divers took the plunge and died along the way.
