A grieving scientist from Italy who lost both his wife and daughter in the Maldives diving tragedy is now breaking his silence.
He says that something wildly unexpected must have taken place because his wife was just too experienced a diver to take risks.
Carlo Sommacal raised some major concerns after his partner and their 20-year-old daughter were among five people who failed to resurface during their scuba diving trip inside a cave on Thursday morning.
The only certainty that he has is that his wife is among the best divers on the face of the earth, and she is always so conscientious about everything, he shared. He also mentioned that he was certain she would never have endangered the life of their daughter or the others linked with them.
