23-year-old Laura Nicholson was arrested on two counts of injury related to a child on May 8 after an autopsy report shared a habit of hers that might have led to the death of her two young daughters.
Three-year-old Kinsely and two-year-old Kelsey were both found floating inside their grandmother's pool in Houston on the morning of February 11.
Laura was fast asleep on the couch inside the home when this tragedy ensued. Her father, David, shared more about how Laura was seen dozing off frequently, and it was becoming a major issue with the investigation, later linking it to substance dependency.
David Nicholson explained to the cops how his granddaughters were playing inside the home when he returned from work at about 8:30 am. He played with them and helped them before going to bed an hour later. His wife had gone grocery shopping at about the same time. When she returned, she found the unthinkable. The door was slightly ajar, and the kids were unconscious in the pool. Despite life saving measures, they could not be saved.
