A deadly bus crash has taken place in Nepal that killed at least 19 people, including a 24-year-old British tourist.
The incident arose when the vehicle veered off a mountain highway and plunged around 650 feet, which is nearly 200 meters, down a slope into the fast-flowing Trishuli River early on Monday.
The bus was reportedly carrying nearly 44 passengers on its way from the popular tourist city of Pokhara to the capital city of Kathmandu, when it left the Prithvi Highway that is located near Benighat in Dhading District shortly after midnight.
Emergency teams were seen working through the night to reach the site of the crash. Local authorities confirmed that only nine of the bodies have been formally identified so far. Furthermore, among the injured are foreign nationals, including a Chinese citizen being treated at the National Trauma Center that's located in Kathmandu, and a New Zealand woman was also said to have suffered from minor injuries after the crash.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
