Actor Eric Dane has passed away at the age of 53.
The Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria star gained fame with his role as Dr. Mark Sloan, also known as McSteamy in Grey's Anatomy. His death comes just ten months after the celeb went public with his diagnosis of ALS. This is also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
The actor's family confirmed the news with a statement to local media outlets about his death. The statement read: 'With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed away on Thursday afternoon after a brave battle with ALS.'
The star spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were said to be the center of his world.
Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric was said to be a very passionate advocate for awareness as well as research, determined to make a great difference in the lives of others facing a similar battle.
