For more than 20 years of marriage to his partner, Luciana Barroso, the family pact mandated that they could never be apart for longer than two weeks at a time.
Since The Odyssey was a major production shot on location across the Mediterranean instead of a Hollywood soundstage, Damon had to endure stretches of three and a half weeks away from home.
During an appearance on the TODAY show, Damon expressed deep gratitude for his partner and four daughters, noting how they fully supported the sacrifice that he made because they knew he viewed this role as a pinnacle for his professional career.
