At Redwood High School in California, about ten senior students were seen being disciplined after they were pictured on the bleachers wearing a white t-shirt with letters and numbers that happened to be arranged to spell a homophobic slur after the senior class photo session.
At the start, the shirts were seen arranged to spell Always Legit, Class of 2026. But soon after that, some of the students shifted their positions and altered the message into something more derogatory in meaning. This was designed to target the LGBTQ community, sources shared.
The image quickly went viral on social media and prompted a strong reaction from other students, parents, and the community.
School district officials mentioned how this kind of behavior was condemned across the board and was totally unacceptable.
They also stated how it did not echo the same values that the district holds.
Right now, an investigation is being carried out to determine the right disciplinary action against the students who took part in the act.
