Investigators working the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie say they've found a glove containing DNA that might be a key piece of evidence.
When they sent it over to the labs for forensic testing, they say there is a match to the suspect seen on Nancy's doorbell video footage who tried to disable it.
The glove was reportedly found two miles from her home in Tucson, Arizona, and as per the FBI, it appeared to match it very well.
Preliminary DNA testing on the glove produced the unknown male profile. Final confirmation and entry into the national DNA database are expected soon as part of a normal forensic procedure, they explained.
The latest development marks a significant forensic lead in this high-profile case, which has entered its third week without any kind of arrest taking place.
Law enforcement previously shared a doorbell camera footage that showed the masked individual tampering with Guthrie's front door during the start of this month, which is when she disappeared.
