Figure Skater Gets Engaged to Her Former Rival on the Streets of Milan During Winter Olympics

Spain's Olivia Smart reportedly experienced a very unforgettable moment recently during the Winter Olympics in Milan.

As per reports from local media outlets, she did end up finishing in 9th position at this year's ice dance event with her partner Tim Dieck. However, she had a much bigger surprise waiting for her off the ice.

On Valentine's Day, her longtime lover and former skating rival, Jean-Luc Baker, proposed to her in the streets of Milan.

Smart and Baker have known one another for more than a decade and have even competed against one another at large sporting events, including the Olympics that were held in China in 2022.

Their relationship grew from friendly rivalry into something that was so much deeper over the years.

The proposal was very symbolic and took place on the same date that Baker first shared his feelings with Smart four years back during the Beijing Games.

She was certainly caught by surprise with this proposal and accepted it with open arms.
