This year's Winter Olympics appear to be filled with plenty of controversies across the board.
The ice dance competition in Milan-Cortina included a judging controversy that arose after the French team, Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron, received the gold medal over the American duo, Madison Chock and Evan Bates, by a narrow margin.

Fans and observers swiftly mentioned the scoring, pointing to one judge's marks that were much higher for the French Team than those of other judges.
So many others felt that Chock and Bates delivered a much stronger performance but ended up with the silver medal. The clashes soon intensified when Italy's skater Marco Fabbri suggested in public that Chock and Bates deserved the gold, which gave rise to fan frustration and online debate on this issue.

Critics further went on to debate and compare the matter to previous Olympic scandals, giving rise to an online petition that called for a formal investigation to arise in the form of potential bias and the judging process.
